Matchday does not generate trivia at runtime. Its shipped clue corpus starts with an approved HTTPS source, retains a verified fact, and then turns that fact into playable clue copy.
Start with a source class
FIFA supports tournament history, UEFA supports continental competition history, and The IFAB supports Laws vocabulary. The source should match the claim.
- Choose the authority by subject.
- Store the canonical URL.
- Record a reviewed date.
Preserve the canonical fact
The fact layer keeps the answer identity, entity type, category, era, and evidence separate from the clue wording.
- Do not merge by name alone.
- Keep answer families explicit.
- Reject ambiguous or malformed records.
Publish a fair clue
A playable clue should be distinct, grammatical, and solvable from its signals plus crossings. Obscurity is not difficulty by itself.
- Give enough identity context.
- Avoid unsupported records.
- Recheck every clue after source updates.
